If this offends you, you’re on the page 😉 I do like to keep it uplifting and unified over here and can’t help but notice that there is a vibe afoot. I often talk about the pendulum swing that is healing. When the pendulum has been far on one side, it rushes quickly to the other once released. It’s never linear and the healing comes in waves, as the pendulum swings. I hope that humanity makes it to a time when things equal out and we live in that new found equity. I spent 20 years bypassing it. I have read all the books and taken all the courses, I can promise you that know one has your specific answers but you. But you don’t find answers by looking for them. You find answers by looking for you. I can’t believe that I’m officially past the halfway point. I also can’t imagine living my life any other way than this. In an effort to survive, our species has evolved to avoid discomfort. Technology of all kinds has given us the opportunity to create a culture around comfort. And that's great right? Well, being comfortable is awesome but avoiding discomfort will quickly leave us feeling stuck, lost, frustrated and even unfulfilled. What we fail to realize is that all of those results are also uncomfortable. I can attest with certainty that everything you are looking for is on the other side of what you are avoiding. It's going to get uncomfortable either way. But the discomfort of facing the difficult truths about ourselves and our lives is an investment that will save us from a lifetime of the discomfort of avoiding discomfort. What is normal anyway? Someone once told me that it’s a setting on the washing machine. I think they’ve changed it to casual…Well, I don’t do that one well either. In today's fast-paced world, filled with constant demands and pressures, it's all too easy to neglect our own well-being. Yet, amidst the chaos, there lies a profound truth: the importance of self-compassion. I vividly recall the moment when this truth hit me like a ton of bricks. Growing up in the evangelicalism culture and with a Virgo mother, I unwittingly internalized the notion that my worth was contingent upon my achievements and adherence to rigid standards....
